The proposal of this project is to detect and extract vehicle movement from image sequences in order to measure the amount of vehicles in each image and to determine their category. The acknowledgement of terrestrial vehicle flow data in highways configures a problem to entities that want to use that data in order to project upgrades in the infrastructure of the roads or to plan their maintenance. The growing number of digital cameras in urban environments and highway premises represents a strong motivation for the design of applications that gather relevant information on traffic analysis from image sequences.
